Abolisionisme
Abolisionisme adalah sebuah gerakan yang ingin menyingkirkan perbudakan di Eropa dan di Amerika. Gerakan ini aktif selama abad ke-18. Sampai abad ke-18, hanya sedikit orang yang mengkritik perbudakan. Namun, pemikir pada Abad Pencerahan mulai mengkritik hal ini karena menurut pendapat mereka, perbudakan bertentangan dengan hak asasi manusia. Komunitas seperti Kaum Quaker berpikir bahwa perbudakan bertentangan dengan kekristenan.
