Abstensi
Abstensi merupakan sikap yang diambil suatu negara terhadap keputusan dengan tidak memihak ke salah satu pilihan dalam setiap proses pemungutan suara pada forum multilateral. Keputusan ini menunjukkan netralitas suatu negara untuk tidak menyetujui dan tidak menentang hasil pemungutan suara. Sebagai contoh pada kasus ini ialah sikap Indonesia pada keputusan untuk mengadopsi rancangan Arms Trade Treaty di majelis umum PBB pada april 2013. Sikap ini merupakan bentuk abstain Indonesia dengan tidak menerima dan tidak menolak pengesahan perjanjian internasional tersebut.[1]
