Addison Gardiner
Addison Gardiner (19 Maret 1797 – 5 Juni 1883) adalah seorang pengacara dan politikus Amerika yang menjabat sebagai Letnan Gubernur New York dari tahun 1845 hingga 1847 dan Ketua Hakim Pengadilan Banding New York dari tahun 1854 hingga 1855.

Awal kehidupan dan karier
Gardiner lahir Rindge, New Hampshire pada 19 Maret 1797, putra dari William Gardner dan Rebecca (Raymond) Gardner.[1] Keluarga itu akhirnya menetap di Manlius, New York, di mana William Gardner menjadi seorang pengusaha sukses. Putra Gardner, termasuk Addison, kemudian memutuskan untuk mengembalikan ejaan asli nama keluarga mereka, Gardiner. Addison Gardiner dididik di Akademi Manlius, dan menerima gelarnya dari Union College pada tahun 1819. Dia kemudian diterima di Philomathean Society di perguruan tinggi sebagai anggota kehormatan. Pada tahun 1851, Gardiner menerima gelar kehormatan LL. D. dari Universitas Rochester .
