Akbar adalah munisipalitas yang terletak di provinsi Basilan, Filipina.
Pada tahun 2007, munisipalitas ini memiliki populasi sebesar 21.312 jiwa.
Sejarah
Akbar resmi dibentuk sebagai munisipalitas di provinsi Basilan pada 20 Desember 2005 melalui Muslim Mindanao Autonomy Act No. 193, tetapi baru diresmikan melalui plebisit pada 22 Mei 2006. Munisipalitas ini merupakan hasil pemekaran dari Tuburan; serta mengabadikan nama Imam Akbar Marani, seorang khatib dan keturunan dari Kuddarat, yang tiba di Taguime pada abad ke-17 dan kemudian berpindah ke Mindanao tengah.

Akbar terbagi menjadi 9 barangay, yaitu:

- Mangngusu
- Pagengan
- Semut
- Upper Bato-bato
- Upper Sinangkapan
