Altiplano
Altiplano (Bahasa Spanyol: dataran tinggi), di mana Andes adalah yang terlebar, adalah dataran tinggi paling luas di dunia di luar Tibet. Meliputi negara Chili, Argentina, Bolivia dan Peru. Ketinggian rata-rata mencapai 3.300 meter. Tak seperti Dataran Tinggi Tibet, Altiplano didominasi puncak-puncak yang tinggi dari gunung api di sebelah barat. Gurun Atacama, kawasan paling kering di dunia, membentang di sebelah barat daya Altiplano.
La Paz, Bolivia adalah kota paling penting di Altiplano.
