Always in the Way adalah film bisu hitam-putih Amerika Serikat produksi tahun 1915 yang disutradarai oleh J. Searle Dawley. Film yang diangkat dari sebuah lagu dengan judul yang sama juga dibikin di Bahama.[1]
Plot
Dorothy North adalah anak berusia empat tahun dari seorang pengacara kaya, Winfred North. Ibunya sudah meninggal dan ayahnya yang menikah lagi dengan seorang janda, Helen Stillwell. Helen terganggu dengan keberadaan Dorothy dan memperlakukan seperti anak jalanan. Dia lari dari rumah dan diasuh oleh para misionaris. Sementara Dorothy hidup bersama orang tua asuh barunya di Afrika, Helen menginformasikan Winfred bahwa putrinya hilang.
Winfred berhasil mencoba untuk menemukan Dorothy, yang tumbuh dengan seorang wanita muda di Afrika. Pada usia lima belas, orang tua angkatnya dibunuh oleh Zulu. Dia dipisahkan dari kekasihnya, John Armstrong dan kembali ke Amerika. Di sini, dia menemukan pekerjaan di sebuah toko bunga. John mengikuti ke New York City dan menempatkan ayah kandungnya. Mereka semua bersatu kembali dan Winfred bercerai dengan Helen.
