Aotearoa
Aotearoa adalah nama lain dari negara Selandia Baru. Nama ini berasal dari bahasa Maori dan konon artinya adalah "Tanah Awan Putih Panjang". Dewasa ini, nama ini banyak digunakan, tidak hanya oleh orang Selandia Baru keturunan Maori, tetapi juga mereka yang keturunan Eropa.
Pada 14 September 2021, Partai Māori memulakan petisi untuk mengubahkan nama negara dari New Zealand ke Aotearoa.[1] Petisi tersebut mencapai 50.000 tanda tangan dalam 2 hari.[2]
