Deskripsi
Arum apulum adalah herba berumbi yang menyebar secara klonal melalui umbi cakram yang berorientasi vertikal.[2] Bunga muncul pada sebuah spadiks.[2]
Bunganya mengeluarkan aroma kotoran yang dapat dideteksi oleh penyerbuk dari famili Sphaeroceridae dan Chironomidae. Senyawa volatil yang dominan adalah l-desena, dimetil-oktadiena, dan p-kresol.[3][4]
Habitat
Spesies ini endemik di Italia, tempat ia tumbuh di semak belukar rendah pada ketinggian 300 hingga[convert: unit tak dikenal] di wilayah Apulia bagian tengah.[1][2] Spesies ini terancam oleh perusakan habitat.[1]
Taksonomi
Di dalam genus Arum, spesies ini termasuk dalam subgenus Arum, seksi Dioscoridea, dan subseksi Dischroochiton.[2]
A. apulum bersifat tetraploid, dengan jumlah kromosom 2n = 56.[2]
