Asio otus merupakan spesies burung hantu berukuran sedang dengan wilayah perkembangbiakan yang luas.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

Karakteristik

Asio otus berukuran sekitar 35–37 cm. Betinanya memiliki mata jingga, cakram wajah kemerahan, dan jambul telinga panjang. Bagian sayap dan ekor ekor juga disertai garis yang tidak terlalu tebal. Terdapat corak utama berwarna karat kekuningan. Pejantannya ditandai dengan cakram, bagian bawah, dan penutup bagian bawah sayap yang biasanya memiliki warna kurang kaya. bagian atasnya disertai garis yang kurang mencolok. Asio otus dapat ditemukan di hutan dan perkebunan; pada ketinggian 1.065-1.385 m.[11]
