Asyut (bahasa Arab: أسيوط, translit. Asyūṭ) merupakan sebuah kota yang terletak di Kegubernuran Asyut, Mesir.
Kota ini terletak 375 kilometer di selatan Kairo, dan pada Masa Antara Awal, kota ini bernama Zawty. Asyut merupakan ibu kota nomos ke-13 Mesir Hulu.
Meskipun Asyut terkenal dari sumber-sumber Mesir Kuno, sisa-sisa peninggalan Mesir Kuno tetap di pemakaman Asyut, yang terletak di barat Asyut modern. Sebagian besar pemakaman yang ditemukan di sini berasal dari Dinasti IX, X, dan XII. Tulisan yang terdapat di pemakaman tersebut memberikan informasi penting atas konflik yang berlangsung antara Dinasti Herakleopolis IX dan X serta Dinasti XI Thebes.
Pada masa Yunani-Romawi, kota ini bernama Lycopolis.
