Badak Hitam, Diceros bicornis adalah mamalia yang masuk kedalam ordo Perissodactyla dan merupakan hewan asli Afrika timur dan tengah, termasuk Kenya, Tanzania, Kamerun, Afrika Selatan, Namibia dan Zimbabwe. Walaupun badak ini merujuk pada makhluk "hitam", tetapi warnanya lebih berwarna abu-abu-putih. Nama spesies ini dipilih untuk dibedakan dari badak putih (Ceratotherium simum). Hal ini merupakan kesalahan, karena dua spesies tersebut tidak benar-benar dapat dibedakan melalui warna. The World Conservation Union (IUCN) mengumumkan pada tanggal 7 Juli 2006 bahwa satu dari empat subspesies, Badak Hitam Afrika Barat (Diceros bicornis longipes), dinyatakan punah.[1] Spesies ini sendiri kini berstatus kritis.
