Bintit atau hordeolum adalah infeksi bakteri pada kelenjar minyak kelopak mata yang menyebabkan bengkak merah pada bagian pinggir kelopak mata.[1] Infeksi ini pada umumnya disebabkan oleh Staphylococcus aureus. Baik bagian dalam maupun luar kelopak mata dapat terdampak oleh infeksi ini. Bagian dalam disebabkan infeksi pada kelenjar Meibom, sedangkan bagian luar disebabkan infeksi pada kelenjar Zeis. Bintit dibedakan dengan kalazion karena kalazion disebabkan oleh sumbatan kelenjar minyak tanpa infeksi.
