Boeing B-47 Stratojet

Boeing Model 450 B-47 Stratojet adalah pembom strategis pengintai (reconnaissance aircraft) bertenaga jet jarak jauh, bermesin enam, yang dirancang untuk terbang pada kecepatan subsonik tinggi dan di elevasi tinggi untuk menghindari intersepsi musuh. Misi B-47 adalah terutama untuk menjatuhkan bom nuklir di Uni Soviet. Dengan mesin yang dibawa dalam polong di bawah sayap menyapu, B-47 adalah inovasi desain jet tempur utama dalam pasca-Perang Dunia II, dan membantu menyebabkan pesawat jet modern.

Layanan B-47 masuk dengan Komando Udara Strategis (SAC) Angkatan Udara Amerika Serikat pada tahun 1951. Ini tidak pernah terlihat sebagai bomber pertempuran, tetapi andalan kekuatan bomber SAC selama 1950-an dan awal 1960-an, dan tetap digunakan sebagai pembom sampai tahun 1965.
