Bohdan Hawrylyshyn
Bohdan Hawrylyshyn (1926–2016) adalah ekonom, dermawan, pendiri Forum Ekonomi Dunia sekaligus anggota pendiri Klub Roma keturunan Ukraina, Kanada, Swiss.[1]
Kehidupan awal
Lahir dengan nama Bohdan Dmytrovych Hawrylyshyn pada 19 Oktober 1926 di Koropets, sebuah desa kecil di Ukraina bagian barat, ia tumbuh dalam keluarga petani miskin yang tinggal di gubuk dari tanah liat dan jerami. Bohdan adalah anak bungsu dari empat bersaudara. Bagi Soviet, ayahnya adalah "kulak", yang berarti "musuh negara." Selama masa pendudukan Soviet di barat Ukraina pada 1939-1944, keluarga mereka hidup dalam ketakutan, sehingga sering berada dalam persembunyian.
