Brian P. Schmidt atau Brian Schmidt (lahir 24 Februari 1967) adalah seorang fisikawan warga negara Australia-Amerika Serikat yang mendapat Penghargaan Nobel Fisika tahun 2011 bersama Saul Perlmutter dan Adam G. Riess untuk penemuan ekspansi percepatan dari alam semesta melalui pengamatan supernova yang berjarak jauh.

Schmidt adalah seorang peneliti astrofisik di Australian National University, Australia. Dia merupakan lulusan dari University of Arizona pada tahun 1989 dan memperoleh gelar PhD dari Harvard University pada tahun 1993.
