Cavia adalah genus hewan pengerat dalam subfamili Caviinae, famili Caviidae.[3] Spesies yang paling terkenal dalam genus ini adalah Tikus belanda (Cavia porcellus), hewan pedaging di Amerika Selatan dan hewan peliharaan yang cukup populer di tempat lain.
