Sejarah
CIGNA dibentuk pada tahun 1982 dengan penggabungan 2 perusahaan the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CG) dan the Insurance Company of North America (INA). The Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CG) sendiri didirikan pada tahun 1865 di Connecticut, Amerika Serikat, sedangkan The Insurance Company of North America (INA) didirikan pada tahun 1792.
