Coccidia adalah parasit bersel satu, pembentuk spora dan mikroskopik yang masuk ke dalam filum apicomplexa dan kelas Conoidasida.[1] Parasit Coccidia menginfeksi usus hewan,[2] dan merupakan grup protozoa apicomplexa terbesar.

Coccidia adalah parasit intraselular obligat,[3] yang berarti mereka harus tinggal dan bereproduksi pada sel hewan.
