Cocopet atau Lelawi membentuk ordo serangga Dermaptera dan ditemukan di seluruh Amerika, Afrika, Eurasia, Australia dan Selandia Baru. Dengan sekitar 2.000 spesies[1] di 12 familia, mereka adalah salah satu ordo serangga kecil.
Karakteristik
Cocopet memiliki karakteristik berupa cerci, sepasang tang penjepit di perut mereka, dan sayap membran dilipat di bawah sayap depan pendek, maka nama ordo ilmiah, "sayap kulit". Beberapa kelompok adalah parasit kecil pada mamalia dan tidak memiliki penjepit khas. Cocopet jarang menggunakan kemampuan terbang mereka.
Cocopet memiliki tubuh berukuran kecil hingga sedang. Serangga ini memiliki mulut tipe pengunyah. Metamorfosisnya termasuk metamorfosis tidak sempurna[2]
