Colleen Hoover (lahir 11 Desember 1979) adalah seorang penulis novel fiksi dewasa muda dengan genre romansa.[2] Hoover pertama kali menerbitkan sendiri bukunya yang berjudul Slammed pada 2012 melalui Amazon Kindle.[2][3] Buku pertamanya tersebut kemudian masuk daftar buku terlaris New York Times dan mendapatkan nominasi penghargaan Goodreads Choice Awards dalam kategori Best Young Adult Fiction.[4][5]

Kehidupan

Collen Hoover lahir dan besar di Texas pada 11 Desember 1979 dengan nama Margaret Colleen Fennell. Hoover menikah pada 2000 dengan Heath Hoover dan memiliki 3 anak dari pernikahannya itu.[2] Pada 2011, ia mulai menulis buku pertamanya yang berjudul Slammed dan menerbitkannya sendiri pada 2012 dengan bantuan kakaknya yang merupakan editor dan desainer sampul.[6] Inspirasi utamanya adalah lirik lagu Avett Brothers yang berjudul "Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise" yang berbunyi "decide what to be and go be it". Hal ini menjadi alasan Hoover banyak memasukkan lirik lagu Avett Brothers di dalam bukunya.[7]

Kemudian pada akhir 2012, ia menerbitkan sendiri buku keduanya Point of No Retreat. Buku pertama dan keduanya ini diterbitkan melalui Amazon Kindle. Penjualan kedua buku tersebut meningkat cepat setelah buku pertama Hoover diulas dan diberi 5 bintang oleh blogger buku, Maryse Black.[8]
