Cornelis Senen
Meester Cornelis Senen adalah seorang anak orang kaya keturunan Portugis dari pulau Lontar. Namanya diabadikan menjadi nama jalan di kawasan Senen, Jakarta Pusat. Pada tahun 1621, ia diasingkan ke Batavia. Ia berhasil membuka sekolah pada tahun 1635. Ia mempelajari bahasa Melayu sehingga ia dapat berkhutbah dan memimpin doa dalam bahasa Melayu. Ia memiliki kebun besar di daerah Ciliwung. Hingga kini, daerah Jatinegara masih disebut dengan daerah Meester.[1]
