Des Moines (bahasa Prancis yang berarti 'Dari para Biarawan') (diucapkan [dɪˈmɔɪn] dalam bahasa Inggris, [[Media:DesMoines1.ogg|[demwan]]] dalam bahasa Prancis) adalah ibu kota negara bagian AS Iowa. Kota ini dibentuk pada 22 September 1851, sebagai Fort Des Moines, hingga akhirnya disingkat menjadi "Des Moines" pada 1857.

Kota ini juga merupakan ibu kota dari Kabupaten Polk. Menurut sensus 2000, penduduk kota ini berjumlah 198.682.

Des Moines terletak di bagian tengah selatan dari negara bagian Iowa. Sungai Des Moines dan Sungai Raccoon bertemu tepat di selatan pusat kota dan menjadi pemasok air utama kota ini.
