Devon Akhir

Breksi dari periode Devon Akhir, di Pulau Gunung Desert, Maine, Amerika Serikat.

Devon Akhir adalah kala terakhir dari Periode Devon, yang dimulai pada 382.7 juta tahun lalu, hingga 358.9 juta tahun lalu. Kala ini dibagi menjadi dua tahap, yaitu Frasnium dan Famennium.[1]

Peristiwa

Pada saat ini, hutan pertama muncul di daratan. Tetrapoda pertamakali muncul di catatan fosil.[2] Terjadi dua peristiwa kepunahan massal pada kala ini, yaitu Peristiwa Kellwasser yang memusnahkan 19% Famili hewan dan 50% Genera punah,[3] dan Peristiwa Hangenberg atau Glasiasi Famennium.
