Diaspora Swedia terdiri dari emigran dan keturunan-keturunannya, khususnya orang-orang yang masih mempertahankan beberapa kebiasaan dari budaya Swedia mereka.[1] Komunitas-komunitas Swedia terkenal berada di Amerika Serikat, Australia, Kanada, Britania Raya, Argentina dan lain-lain.

Sejarah

Perusahaan Swedia Baru mendirikan sebuah koloni di Sungai Delaware pada 1638, menamainya Swedia Baru. Koloni tersebut direbut oleh Belanda pada 1655.[2]

Antara 1846 dan 1930, sekitar 1.3 juta orang, sekitar 20% dari populasi Swedia, meninggalkan negara tersebut.[3][4]
