EDNS Client Subnet

EDNS Client Subnet adalah sebuah ekstensi DNS yang dapat digunakan oleh resolver DNS rekursif untuk menentukan subnet jaringan untuk host di mana dia membuat query DNS. Ini dimaksudkan untuk mempercepat pengiriman data dari content delivery network, dengan memanfaatkan load balancing DNS untuk memilih alamat yang akan digunakan dalam pengiriman data.[1] [2] Mekanisme EDNS client subnet dimasukkan dalam RFC 7871.

Hingga 2019, provider yang mendukung EDNS Client Subnet diantaranya OpenDNS , Google Public DNS[3] dan Quad9.
