Edward Otha South (27 November 1904 – 25 April 1962) adalah seorang pemain biola jazz Amerika. South mempelajari musik klasik di Budapest, Paris, dan Chicago.[1] Pada 1920-an dia adalah anggota orkestra jazz yang dipimpin oleh Charlie Elgar, Erskine Tate, dan Jimmy Wade.[1][2] Dia memimpin sebuah band di awal 1930-an yang termasuk Milt Hinton serta Everett Barksdale.[1] Pada tahun 1937 ia merekam di Paris bersama Stephane Grappelli, Django Reinhardt, juga Michel Warlop.[1] Pada tahun 1945 dia bekerja untuk band studio di WMGM di New York City.[1] Selama tahun 1950-an, dia menjadi tamu di televisi bersama Fran Allison, Dave Garroway di WGN, Chicago.[1]

Pada 26 Juni, 2019, The New York Times Magazine mencantumkan Eddie South di antara ratusan artis yang materinya dilaporkan hancur di Fire Universal 2008.[3]
