Eduard Zirm

Eduard Konrad Zirm (18 Maret 1863 – 15 Maret 1944) adalah seorang oftalmologis yang melakukan transplantasi kornea ketebalan penuh manusia sukses pertama pada 7 Desember 1905.[1]
Zirm lahir di Wina. Ia belajar kedokteran di Universitas Wina,[2] dan oftalmologi di Klinik Mata setempat.[3] Setelah lulus, Zirm menjadi dokter mata di Klinik Mata Kedua di Wina, kemudian menerima sebuah jabatan di sebuah rumah sakit di Olomouc, Moravia, pada 1892. Disana, ia menjadi kepala klinik oftalmologi baru yang pendiriannya dibantu olehnya.[3]
