Elang harrier afrika[3] (Polyboroides typus) adalah sebuah spesies burung pemangsa. Panjangnya sekitar 60–66 sentimeter (24–26 in). Spesies ini kawin id sebagian besar wilayah Afrika di selatan Sahara.[4] Satu-satunya anggota lain dari genusnya adalah elang harrier madagaskar (Polyboroides radiatus) yang alopatrik.

Bagian atas, kepala dan dadanya kelabu pucat, sementara perutnya putih dengan loreng gelap halus. Kedua jenis kelaminnya tampak mirip, tetapi burung muda berwarna cokelat tua, dan cokelat gelap pada burung muda menggantikan bagian hitam pada dewasa.
