Enkopresis

Enkopresis (encopresis, soiling, or fecal overflow incontinence) adalah peristiwa keluarnya feses baik disengaja maupun tidak disengaja yang dilakukan diluar kegiatan buang air besar (BAB) pada normalnya. Enkopresis hanya terjadi pada anak berusia empat tahun atau lebih yang sudah bisa menggunakan toilet. Anak-anak dengan enkopresis umumnya ditandai dengan perilaku BAB di celana.[1]

Enkopresis dapat dipicu oleh peristiwa negatif pada proses buang air besar. Buang air besar yang menyakitkan yang menyebabkan rasa takut buang air besar pada anak-anak. Selain itu, praktik toilet training yang buruk juga dapat menyebabkan pengalaman traumatis pada anak saat menggunakan toilet.[2]
