Enukleasi diri

Enukleasi diri juga dikenal sebagai autoenukleasi atau oedipisme adalah enukleasi (pengangkatan/pencongkelan) mata yang dilakukan oleh seorang individu terhadap bola matanya sendiri. Tindakan ini dianggap sebagai bentuk mutilasi diri dan biasanya disebabkan oleh psikosis, delusi paranoid, atau akibat pengaruh obat-obatan.[1] Antara 1968 dan 2018 ada lebih dari 50 kasus enukleasi diri lengkap atau sebagian yang didokumentasikan dalam jurnal medis Britana Raya.[2] Menurut sebuah penelitian tahun 2012 yang diterbitkan dalam British Journal of Ophthalmology, enukleasi diri dapat "dianggap sebagai hasil dari konflik psiko-seksual" bahkan jika psikosis adalah penyebab yang lebih mungkin.[3] Enukleasi diri merupakan suatu bentuk mutilasi diri yang sangat ekstrem dan jarang dilaporkan.[4][5]
