Francis Place
Francis Place (3 November 1771, London – 1 Januari 1854, London) adalah seorang reformis sosial Inggris. Pamflet-pamflet, surat-surat, dan artikel-artikel majalah dan koran yang ia tulis menggambarkan sejarah sosial dan ekonomi pada abad ke-19.[1] Kumpulan dokumennya menjadi arsip yang penting. British Library saat ini menyimpan dokumen tersebut.[2]
Pada tahun 1794, Place bergabung dengan London Corresponding Society, sebuah klub reformasi. Ia menjadi anggota klub tersebut selama tiga tahun, sebelum mengundurkan diri dari jabatannya sebagai kepala komite umum pada tahun 1797 karena menentang taktik dan retorik beberapa anggota kelompok yang dianggap terlalu keras.
