Gajah afrika utara (Loxodonta africana pharaoensis) kemungkianan adalah subspesies dari gajah semak afrika (Loxodonta africana), atau mungkin merupakan spesies gajah yang berbeda, yang hidup di Afrika Utara sebelum akhirnya punah pada masa Romawi kuno. Gajah ini digunakan sebagai gajah perang oleh Kartago dalam Perang Punisia melawan Republik Romawi. Meskipun subspesies ini telah banyak digambarkan,[1][2] tetapi belum diterima secara luas oleh para taksonom. Nama lainnya dari hewan ini antara lain Gajah hutan Afrika Utara, Gajah Kartago, dan Gajah Atlas. Habitat alaminya meliputi Afrika Utara sampai ke pesisir Sudan dan Eritrea modern.
