Galactic Radiation and Background
Galactic Radiation and Background (GRAB) adalah kelompok satelit yang terdiri dari lima satelit intelijen elektronik yang merupakan satelit mata-mata pertama yang diperasikan Naval Research Laboratory milik Amerika Serikat. Operasi satelit ini (dalam SOLRAD 1) dimulai tak lama setelah Insiden U-2 1960 di tengah-tengah Perang Dingin. Hanya dua dari lima satelit yang dibangun berhasil mencapai orbit, tetapi keduanya menghasilkan informasi yang banyak tentang kemampuan radar pertahanan udara Uni Soviet. Pada 1962, program GRAB digantikan oleh program serupa yaitu Poppy di bawah tanggung jawab National Reconnaissance Office. Keberadaan program GRAB dirahasiakan AS hingga 1998.[1]
