Gallaecia
Gallaecia atau Callaecia, juga disebut Gallaecia Hispania, adalah nama provinsi Romawi yang meliputi wilayah di Hispania barat laut (kini merupakan bagian dari Galicia, Portugal utara, Asturias dan Leon). Kota-kota Romawi yang ada di wilayah ini meliputi pelabuhan Cale (Porto) serta pusat pemerintahan Bracara Augusta (Braga), Lucus Augusti (Lugo) dan Asturica Augusta (Astorga).
Pada malam hari tanggal 31 Desember 406, beberapa suku-suku Jermanik seperti Vandal, Alan, dan Suebi menyeberangi perbatasan Romawi disungai Rhein. Mereka menjarah Galia dan menyeberangi pegunungan Pirenia. Suebi mengambil wilayah Gallaecia dan mendirikan Kerajaan Suebi.
