Gartok

Gartok (Tibet: སྒར་ཐོག; Wylie: sGar-thog), yang sekarang disebut Garyarsa (Tibetan: sGar-dbyar-sa, "Tempat kamp musim panas"; romanisasi Wade–Giles: Ka-erh-ya-sha),[1][2] adalah sebuah pasar dagang di Tibet, yang berada di tepi Sungai Indus di jalan antara Shigatse dan Leh, menuju timur Simla. Berada di ketinggian 14,630 kaki (4,460 m), tempat tersebut berada di pangkal Gunung Kailash; tempat tersebut awalnya merupakan kota utama dan ibu kota musim panas barat Tibet, dan pengurusnya disebut Garpon.[3] Namanya memiliki arti 'kamp militer.'[4] Jumlah penduduknya kurang dari 10,000 jiwa (perkiraan pertengahan 1980an).
