Giardiasis — umumnya disebut demam biwara — adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh protozoa flagellata Giardia lamblia.[1] Organisme giardia menghuni saluran pencernaan pada hewan jinak dan buas, dan juga manusia. Penyakit ini menyebabkan gastroenteritis pada manusia, menginfeksi sekitar 200 juta orang di seluruh dunia.
