Glikolipid
Glikolipid adalah lipid dengan karbohidrat yang dihubungkan dengan ikatan (kovalen) glikosidik.[1] Peran mereka adalah untuk menjaga stabilitas membran sel dan mempermudah pengenalan seluler, yang sangat penting bagi respons imun dan pada hubungan-hubungan yang memungkinkan sel-sel untuk menyatu dengan satu sama lainnya untuk membentuk jaringan.[2] Glikolipid dapat ditemukan di permukaan membran sel semua sel eukariotik, yang mana mereka mencuat dari lapisan ganda fosfolipid ke lingkungan ektraseluler.[2]
