Haraldur Sigurdsson
Haraldur Sigurðsson (lahir 31 Mei 1939) adalah seorang geologis, tempat ia tertarik terhadap gunung berapi dan aktivitasnya.
Ia mempelajari geologi dan geokimia di Britania Raya, tempat ia memperoleh gelar PhD dari universitas Durham tahun 1970. Ia mengamati dan meneliti gunung berapi di Karibia sampai tahun 1974, ketika ia ditunjuk sebagai profesor di Universitas Rhode Island. Ia terkenal untuk pekerjaannya terhadap meletusnya gunung Vesuvius di Italia tahun 79 dan hancurnya Pompeii dan Herculaneum. Pada tahun 2004, ia menemukan kota yang hilang karena terkubur oleh letusan Gunung Tambora tahun 1815.
