Harpagos
Harpagos atau Hypargos (bahasa Yunani kuno: Ἅρπαγος; bahasa Akkadia: Arbaku) adalah jenderal Media pada abad ke-6 SM. Dalam Historia karya Herodotos, Harpagos disebutkan sebagai anggota keluarga kerajaan Media. Dia mengabdi kepada raja Astyages, raja Media terakhir.
Suatu hari, orang Persia bernama Koresh mengumpulkan pasukan untuk merebut kekuasaan Astyages. Mengetahui hal ini, Astyages memerintahkan Harpagos, sebagai jenderal utamanya, untuk memimpin pasukan melawan Koresh. Maka terjadilah Pertempuran Pasargadai. Setelah tiga hari bertempur, Harpagos membelot dari Astyages dan memihak Koresh, karena Astyages pernah membunuh putra Harpagos. Akibat pembelotan ini, pasukan Astyages kalah dan Koresh pun berhasil merebut kekuasaan. Setelah berkuasa, Koresh mendirikan Kekaisaran Persia dan dia sendiri kemudian dikenal sebagai Koresh Agung.
