Hidrogel


Hidrogel adalah bahan bifasik, campuran padatan berpori dan permeabel dengan setidaknya 10% air atau fluida interstisial lainnya.[1][2] Fase padat adalah jaringan polimer tiga dimensi yang tidak larut dalam air, yang telah menyerap sejumlah besar air atau cairan biologis.[2][3][4][5] Hidrogel memiliki beberapa aplikasi, terutama di bidang biomedis, seperti dalam pembalut hidrogel. Banyak hidrogel yang sintetis, tetapi beberapa berasal dari bahan alami.[6][7] Istilah "hidrogel" dibentuk pada tahun 1894.[8]
