Hiketas

Hiketas (bahasa Yunani Kuno: Ἱκέτας or Ἱκέτης; skt. 400 – skt. 335 SM) merupakan seorang filsuf sekolah Pythagoras Yunani. Ia lahir di Sirakusa. Seperti rekan Pythagorasnya, Akphantos dan Akademik Heraklides Pontikos, ia percaya bahwa pergerakan bintang sehari-hari disebabkan oleh rotasi Bumi di sekitar porosnya.[1] Ketika Nicolaus Copernicus memanggil Nicetus Syracusanus (Niketus dari Sirakusa) di dalam De revolutionibus orbium coelestium seperti yang dikutip oleh Cicero sebagai orang kuno yang juga berpendapat bahwa bumi bergerak, diyakini bahwa ia sebenarnya mengacu pada Hiketus.[2]
