Homestead Acts

Homestead Acts adalah sebuah undang-undang yang diberlakukan pada tahun 1862 oleh Amerika Serikat. UU tersebut memperkenankan setiap warga negara Amerika di atas usia 21 tahun, dengan hanya biaya pendaftaran sebesar 10 dolar AS, dapat memperoleh tidak lebih dari 160 acre (sekitar 64,75 hektare) tanah di barat. Akibatnya, orang kulit putih menyerbu ke wilayah Indian dan memulai pembantaian yang mengakibatkan kematian ribuan orang Indian.[1]
