Hutan galeri
Hutan galeri adalah hutan yang terbentuk sebagai sebuah koridor di sepanjang sungai atau lahan basah, mencuat ke lanskap yang umumnya memiliki sedikit pohoj seperti sabana, padang rumput atau gurun. Hutan galeri mempertahankan sebuah iklim mikro yang lebih sedang (temperate) di atas sungai. Didefinisikan sebagai sebuah vegetasi hutan panjang dan ramping yang dihubungkan dengan sungai-sungai, hutan galeri secara struktur dan floristik heterogen.
Habitat-habitat hutan galeri berbeda dengan lanskap disekitarnya karena mereka, contohnya, lebih kaya akan nutrisi atau lebih lembap atau/dan terdapat lebih sedikit kemungkinan untuk terbakar.[1] Hutan-hutan ini terkadang hanya memiliki lebar beberapa meter, karena mereka tergantung pada air di dekatnya.[2]
