Hutan laurel

Hutan laurel, disebut juga laurisilva atau laurissilva, adalah tipe hutan subtropis yang ditemukan pada daerah dengan kelembaban yang tinggi dan relatif stabil, serta cuacanya nyaman (tidak ekstrem). Ciri utama dari hutan ini adalah keberadaan spesies pohon berdaun lebar dan pohon berdaun hijau sepanjang tahun, yang daunnya mengkilap serta memanjang, sering disebut "laurophyll" atau "lauroid". Tanaman dari familia laurel (Lauraceae) bisa jadi ada atau mungkin tidak ada, tergantung lokasi.
