Hypericum leschenaultii adalah tumbuhan semak (shrub) atau berkayu pendek (tree) dan termasuk ke dalam keluarga Hypericaceae. Tumbuhan ini mempunyai daun muda berwarna kemerahan dan bunga mencolok dengan daun mahkota berwarna kuning cerah.[1] Tumbuhan ini tersebar di Asia dan Malesia. Di Indonesia, tumbuhan ini dapat ditemukan salah satunya di Gunung Prau.[2]
Genus dari tumbuhan ini mengandung banyak senyawa bioaktif, di antaranya senyawa hypericin yang berpotensi sebagai antikanker dan memiliki efek antiangiogenik pada proses in-vitro dan in-vivo.[3]
