Sir James George Frazer FRS FRSE FBA (1 Januari 1854, Glasgow– 7 Mei 1941, Cambridge), adalah antropolog sosial Skotlandia yang berpengaruh pada masa awal studi modern mitologi dan agama perbandingan.[1] Dia kadang dianggap sebagai bapak antropologi modern.
Karyanya yang paling terkenal, The Golden Bough (1890), menjabarkan berbagai kemiripan antara beragam kepercayaan spiritual di seluruh dunia. Frazer mengemukakan bahwa kepercayaan manusia berkembang melalui tiga tahap, yaitu sihir primitif, yang digantikan oleh agama, dan pada gilirannya digantikan oleh ilmu pengetahuan.
