Janjaweed
Janjaweed (bahasa Arab: جنجويد, kadang ditranslasikan menjadi Janjawid, Janjawed, Jingaweit, Jinjaweed, Janjawiid, Janjiwid, Janjaweit, dll.) adalah suatu istilah yang merujuk terutama pada orang-orang bersenjata di wilayah Darfur, Sudan bagian barat. Menurut definisi PBB, Janjaweed terdiri dari para pejuang kulit hitam berbahasa Arab,[1] yang intinya berasal dari kaum Abbala (peternak unta) dengan melibatkan kaum Baggara (peternak sapi). Sejak tahun 2003, kelompok ini telah menjadi aktor utama dalam konflik Darfur, yang mempertentangkan kaum Arab Sudan nomaden dengan populasi non-Arab Sudan yang menetap (sedentary) dalam perebutan sumber daya dan alokasi lahan.[2]
