Jean Auguste Margueritte (15 Januari 1823 – 6 September 1870), adalah seorang Jenderal Prancis, ayah dari Victor Margueritte dan Paul Margueritte.
Setelah karier terhormat di Aljazair, Jenderal Margueritte terluka parah dalam serangan kavaleri besar di Sedan, di mana Kaisar dikalahkan dan ditangkap. Dia meninggal di Belgia. Kisah hidupnya diterbitkan oleh putranya, Paul Margueritte dengan jurul Mon père (1884; enlarged ed., 1897).
Kucing pasir dinamai untuk menghormatinya, diberi nama binomial Felis margarita.
