John Tenniel (28 Februari 1820 – 25 Februari 1914)[1] adalah seorang pencipta kartun di majalah Punch London. Majalah punch merupakan majalah yang berisi tentang gambaran satir untuk mengkritik kehidupan sosial dan politik di London pada masa itu. John Tenniel sendiri dikenal juga mampu untuk menyaingi karya dari seniornya di majalah punch sehingga mampu membawa majalah Punch ke erah puncak yaitu pada tahun 1900-an. Selain sebagai creator di punch, John Tenniel juga berperan sebagai kartunis untuk cerita karya sastra klasik Alice's Adventures in Wonderland karya tulisan dari Lewis Carroll (tahun 1865).
