Journal of Global History adalah jurnal akademik sejarah tinjauan sejawat yang terbit tiga kali setahun. Jurnal ini mencakup kajian tentang sejarah komparatif, dunia, dan global. Jurnal ini didirikan pada tahun 2006 dan diterbitkan oleh Cambridge University Press. Editor utamanya adalah Ewout Frankema (Wageningen University & Research).

Topik-topik populer dalam jurnal ini meliputi globalisasi, sejarah komparatif, dan sejarah lintas batas. Artikel-artikel di dalamnya dimaksudkan untuk melibatkan debat interdisipliner di antara para sejarawan, sosiolog, ekonom, dan ilmuwan politik, serta spesialis dalam sejarah non-tertulis seperti geograf, arkeolog, dan biolog.[1]

Sejarah

Ide awal untuk jurnal sejarah global dimulai di Institute of Historical Research ketika direkturnya, Patrick K. O'Brien, membuat seminar baru pada tahun 1990. Pada tahun 2003, Global Economic History Network menghubungkan 49 sejarawan untuk mendiskusikan sejarah globalisasi.[2] Selanjutnya, program gelar pascasarjana dibuat di London School of Economics (LSE) yang berfokus pada "meta-naratif dalam sejarah", dengan konsentrasi pada lingkungan, geopolitik, agama, budaya, ekonomi, gender, ide, dan sains. Lima tahun setelah program gelar tersebut diluncurkan, London School of Economics dan Cambridge University Press bekerja sama mensponsori The Journal of Global History.[3]
